Following an in-depth consultation with families and professionals, it is clear that the families living in North Gwent need a modern, fully integrated Children's Centre, with an integrated Transition Hub, preferably located in Blaenau Gwent. Sparkle have conducted an in depth feasibility study of what is required and where it should be sited and drawn up plans for the optimal centre. This proposal was submitted to the Gwent Regional Partnership board in September 2023, but disappointingly they have rejected this proposal.

Sparkle are continuing to work with our partners in Health, Social Care and Education to try and deliver an integrated service to all of the families that need this across Gwent.

Proposed Plans for Integrated Children's Centre with Transition Hub

 

 

In 2021, we ran a 'Design a Children's Centre Competition' to gain the views of children and young people with disabilities and/or developmental difficulties in North Gwent on what they would like from a new Children's Centre. 

Whilst ideas from all entries have been included in our consultation into the need for a new Children's Centre, thanks to funding from our generous sponsors we were able to award prizes in three age categories.
